Higashiizu Town's famous Moon Road moon viewing train "Moon Road Train Higashiizu-go" special operation (free ride)
On the night of Wednesday, November 9, the Higashi-Izu Town Tourism Association and Izu Express will operate the "Moon Road Train Higashi-Izu-go" to enjoy the scenery of the moonlight reflecting on the sea surface.

The train is equipped with an original head mark on the so-called "Kinme-go" of the red body of Izukyu. On the day of the event, participants boarded the up section of Izu Inatori Station (19:27) → Izu Okawa Station (19:41) (5 stations in total). After that, "Izu Kogen Station", "Izu Shimoda Station", and "Izu Inatori Station" are operated. Around 20:25~20:45, the lights will be turned off between "Katase Shirata Station" and "Izu Inatori Station" with a good view, and the train will stop to spend moon viewing time. Get off at each station between Izu Inatori Station (22:03) → Izu Okawa Station (22:17). The operating time is about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Inside the car, there is a photo exhibition of Moon Road and an in-car broadcast of the moon viewing guide. Offering local craft beer and sweets devised by local high school students. Plans such as a participant-only photo contest, accordion performances, and raffles are available. It has a capacity of 200 passengers. The ride is free, and priority is given to those who book accommodations that are members of the Tourism Association. You can apply for participation at the tourism association or accommodation.
Moon Road is a trademark name registered by Kitagawa Onsen in the town for a scene that is easy to observe during the three days before and after the full moon. Higashiizu Town, which has many hills, is focusing on PR for the Moon Road seen from the ocean view.
