NHK decides to rebroadcast the masterpiece of morning drama "Ama-chan"|Kuji City, Iwate Prefecture, the filming location, wants the younger generation to know about Kitasanriku

"Ama-chan" is a humanistic theater written by Kankuro Miyato. Set in the fictional city of Kitasanriku, the story follows the heroine Aki Amano, who decides to live as a ama and grows up in the land of Kitasanriku and aspires to become an idol after moving to Tokyo. When it was last broadcast, it was such a big hit that it became a social phenomenon.
Filming took place in Kuji City, Iwate Prefecture and the Kitasanriku region (Hirono Town, Noda Village, Fudai Village, and Tanohata Village), and the program shows the beautiful nature of Tohoku and the warmth of its people. In addition to the main actor, Kyoko Koizumi, Kasumi Arimura, Ryuhei Matsuda, Shinta Furuta, Sota Fukushi, and other gorgeous cast members are also attractive.
The rebroadcast will be simulcast on NHK BS Premium and BS4K. The broadcast will begin on Monday, April 3, 2023. Every Monday ~ Saturday morning 7:15 ~ 7:30 and every Sunday morning 9:00 ~ 10:30 (6 episodes for one week). A total of 156 times in 15 minutes each.
The Kuji City Tourism Division says, "This year marks the 10th anniversary of the program's broadcast, and we are really happy about the decision to rebroadcast it, and we hope that the younger generation, who did not watch the program at the time, will know the charm of Kitasanriku." In the future, the Kitasanriku region plans to work together to focus on location PR.
