With the completion of the transition to the new Corona Class 5, the current conditions of use of the national travel support will be abolished

The Japan Tourism Agency plans to abolish the current conditions for nationwide travel support with the completion of the transition to Category 5 infection under the Infection Law of Novel Coronavirus Infections scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2023. On May 18th, I found out through an interview with the Japan Tourism Agency from Good Travel News News.

国土交通省 全国旅行支援

On January 27, 2023, the government's Novel Coronavirus Infection Control Headquarters decided to shift the new coronavirus infection to Category 5 infection under the Infectious Diseases Act from May 8, 2023, and if it is moved to Category 5 after the final resolution of the headquarters, the government's basic policy for new coronavirus infection control measures established in 2021 will be abolished.

With the abolition of the Basic Measures Policy, vaccination or negative proof will no longer be required, which is the condition of use of the national travel support set by the Japan Tourism Agency, based on the recommended requirements for efforts by local governments and private businesses in eating and drinking and travel activities in the policy.

In the future, an announcement regarding the revision of the terms and conditions of use of the national travel support will be made with the completion of the transition to Category 5 of the new coronavirus infection.
