Summer Cool Measures "Uchimizu Operation 2023" Starts PR with Sprinkling Water All Day On August 1
The Uchimizu Operation Headquarters has designated the period from July 23 (the Great Heat) to August 23 (the first day of the heat) as "Uchimizu Enhancement Month" and calls for daily sprinkling of water throughout the country. In addition, August 1 is designated as "Uchimizu Day" and we propose sprinkling water throughout the day.

Sprinkling water is an ancient wisdom that has the effect of lowering the temperature of the ground surface by about 10 degrees Celsius and the air temperature by 1~2 degrees. It is expected to contribute not only to alleviating the heat, but also to promoting water reuse, raising environmental awareness, and revitalizing local communities.
To participate, on a sunny day, add a "#打ち水大作戦" on SNS and post a picture of the sprinkling water at home or at work. The use of recycled water or rainwater is recommended.
Operation Uchimizu began in 2003 and this year marks its 20th anniversary. More than 6 million people participate annually across the country, and events are held in conjunction with each other. The project is presided over by the NPO Japan Water Forum and is supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Ministry of the Environment, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
