Minamiuonuma City holds "Minami Uonuma, Serious Rice Bowl" at New Rice Koshihikari|The deliciousness of new rice remains the same even in the intense heat
Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture will hold an autumn gourmet project "Minamiuonuma, Serious (Maji) Bowl" with the theme of Minamiuonuma Koshihikari from October 1 (Sun) ~ December 15 (Fri), 2023.
In the campaign, 40 stores in the city will offer a large bowl of Koshihikari from Minamiuonuma. Participating stores have a wide range of business types, including Japanese, Western, and Chinese. The menu is a rice bowl style using Koshihikari from Minamiuonuma, and each store makes its own arrangement.
Minamiuonuma City has a natural environment such as melting snow and a temperature difference between day and night, and is one of the leading rice destinations in Japan that produces high-quality "Minamiuonuma Koshihikari".
An Instagram campaign is also underway. If you post a photo of a serious rice bowl with "#あなたに届けたい本気丼", you can win a Koshihikari or ski resort lift ticket.
The campaign began in 2015 in two parts, autumn and winter, and has provided more than 420,000 rice bowls over eight years. The Minamiuonuma City Tourism Association commented, "Although the summer heat has affected production, the taste and texture of the new rice have not changed, and it is delicious.
