Naraijuku Lantern Festival|Children's creative works shine in lanterns, creating a fantastic cityscape
The "5th Naraijuku Lantern Festival" will be held for two days on November 11 (Sat) and 12 (Sun), 2023 in Naraijuku Nakamachi, Nakasendo in Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture. The event was organized by the Naraijuku and Shiojiri City Tourism Associations.

At the Naraijuku Lantern Festival, paper cutouts, calligraphy, and other works made by local nursery schools and elementary and junior high school students are displayed in lanterns and lined up along the Naraijuku Highway, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The tourist office also offers a limited number of locally produced mulled wines and grape juices.
In addition, if you post a photo of the Naraijuku Lantern Festival on Instagram, there will be a campaign in which three people will be selected by lottery to receive Shiojiri grape juice. Participation is posted with the designated hashtag as an acantfollow of the Shiojiri Tourism Association.
The lighting hours are from 18:00 to 20:00 each day.
Naraijuku is the 34th post town on the Nakasendo Highway, and about 1 km away, the townscape of 200 years ago remains. It has also been selected as a nationally designated Important Traditional Buildings Preservation District.
The way to get to the site is to get off at JR Narai Station. In addition, it takes about 35 minutes from "Shiojiri IC" on the Chuo Expressway and about 40 minutes from "Ina IC". Parking is available in the vicinity.
