A trip to Echizen City to follow in the footsteps of Murasaki Shikibu "To the Radiant Prince, Echizen Taiga Drama Hall" opened
From February 23, 2024 (Friday, national holiday), the "To the Radiant Kimi" will open for a limited time until December 30 (Monday) in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, which is said to be the only place where Murasaki Shikibu, the main character of the NHK taiga drama "To the Radiant Prince," lived away from the capital in his life.

The Taiga Drama Museum will be set up as one of the "Shikibukibun Museums" in the indoor event hall in Takefu Central Park in Echizen City, and will convey the charm of drama through exhibitions and original video content that introduce the relationship between Murasaki Shikibu and Echizen. At the entrance, a welcome message VTR by Yuriko Yoshitaka, who plays the role of Murasaki Shikibu, will be broadcast.
Inside the museum, there are correlation diagrams that unravel the human relationships of aristocratic society in the Heian period, as well as costumes and props used in dramas. In the "4K Theater", interviews with the performers of the taiga drama and VTRs introducing historical sites in Echizen City related to Murasaki Shikibu will be screened as video content limited to the Taiga Drama Hall. You can enjoy a commemorative photo at the corner where the life-size panels of the cast and the living room of Murasaki Shikibu's father, Fujiwara Taetoki, are reproduced. In addition to the Taiga Drama Hall, there will also be a new corner in the indoor event hall where you can introduce the culture and history of Echizen and a corner where you can buy souvenirs and goods.
Same-day tickets are 600 yen for adults and 200 yen for children, and group discounts and discounts for people with disabilities are available.
The event is open every day from 9:00~17:00 (last entry at 16:30). On the first day, February 23, the general public will be open from 11:30 a.m. for the ceremony. Access to the site is scheduled to be operated by a shuttle bus between JR "Takeo Station" and "Takeshi Central Park" from February 23.
