Kinokuniya Bookstore Announces "Kinobes!2025"! -Fairs will be held nationwide from February 1
On Friday, January 10, 2025, Kinokuniya Bookstore announced the best 30 recommended books selected by its staff, "Kinoves! Along with this, the fair will be held at Kinokuniya bookstores and web stores nationwide from Saturday, February 1st.
Launched in 2023, "Kinobes!" is a ranking project in which the staff of Kinokuniya Shoten carefully selects and introduces books that Kinokuniya Shoten staff feel are "really interesting" and "should definitely be read" for new books, excluding paperbacks, published in the past year (December 2023 ~ November 2024). This year, 19 members of the selection committee carefully read the recommendation comments received from the staff of 69 Kinokuniya bookstores. Best 30 We have decided.
This year's top three works are "Reproductive Record" (Ryo Asai/Shogakukan) in 1st place, "Before the Dawn of Everything in History" (Kai Mamiya/Hayakawa Shobo) in 2nd place, and "Novel" (Madoka Nozaki/Kodansha) in 3rd place.
From February 1st, the fair will be held in stores and on the webstore. A booklet containing the award-winning comments from Ryo Asakura, the author of "The Book of Reproduction," as well as the staff's recommendation comments for each work, and the "one book that was not selected" selected by the selection committee will be distributed free of charge (PDF version is available on the website). In addition, all stores will exhibit handwritten POP works of 1~10th place.
At Kinokuniya, along with "Kinoves! 2025", the best 30 human documents " Kinokuniya Jinbun Grand Prize and the 10 Best Children's Books and Picture Books. Kids 2025 Also announced.
On Monday, February 17, a joint award ceremony and Ryo Asai commemorative talk event will be held at Kinokuniya Hall in Shinjuku Main Store, including the upcoming "12th Kinokuniya Bookstore Bestseller Award".
