On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, the writing instrument select shop "pen." in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, will release the Sanriku Railway's tricolor (red, blue, white) glass pen "Iwate no Iro Glass pen."
The sale of glass pens is an initiative of the "Iwate Good Iro Transmission Project," which replaces Iwate's local resources with Iro and develops them into products. So far, we have launched 11 colors of fountain pen ink.
This time, we commercialized the Santetsu tricolor color, which is difficult to produce ink, as a glass pen. The production is handled by Genki Hirano, a glass artist living in Kitakami City. When the pen is rotated, the twisted part moves in waves. The attached pen holder is made of chestnut wood from the prefecture, and the color is inspired by the red and blue lines of the train. The cosmetic box was made by a paper container store in Morioka.

The selling price is 27,500 yen. From 11/16 (Tuesday), it will be on sale exclusively at pen. From 11/17 (Wednesday), it will be on sale at the Santetsu online shop "Santetsuya". When you purchase a product, it comes with a "Iwate Good Iro COLLAR BOOK".
