Shizuoka Prefecture Holding an art festival with the theme of "unmanned" at unmanned stations along the Oigawa Railway Road to convey the issues and charms of depopulated areas

The art festival "UNMANNED Unmanned Station Art Festival / Oigawa 2022" will be held from February 25 (Friday) ~ March 21 (Monday / holiday) at unmanned stations along the Oigawa Railway in Shizuoka Prefecture and the surrounding area. The theme of the art festival is unmanned. Fifteen domestic and foreign artists participated. A total of 19 works will be exhibited, including works that will be converted into a tea room in the former station building of the unexplored station "Kamio Station" and works placed on the banks of the Oigawa River, as well as performances by artists and folk dancers to express the issues and charms of the region.

 

Performance events during the exhibition

2/26 (Sat) Flower Ike Battle. The one who improvises and charms the audience wins.
2/27 (Sun) & 3/13 (Sun) Hanaike performance in the former station building, which was reborn as a tea room with local bamboo (Kamio Station)
3/13 (Sun) Artist Yuji Ueno and didgeridoo player Goro perform (Kamio Station)
3/21 (Mon/Holiday) Folklorist Butoh Artist Shigeya Mori's Creative Project (Tsukuri Station)

Viewing hours are 10 a.m. ~ 4 p.m. (closed on Mondays and 3/21). Admission is free, 1,000 yen for the 3/21 creative project only. The exhibition venues of the works are the Oigawa Railway Unmanned Station and its village, as well as the Kawagoe Highway (Kawanehoncho, Shimada City).

In various places in Shimada City, local citizens held "Art Platform/Oigawa". We provide programs that allow you to experience the arts such as manufacturing, dance, and food.
