Sanriku Highway Bus (Miyako, Kesennuma, Sendai Line) officially started|About 250 km Sanriku coast, 2 trains each day from Iwate and Miyagi (4 trains in total)
On Saturday, April 16, Iwate Prefecture Kita Motors and Miyagi Kotsu will officially start operation of the Sanriku Expressway Bus (Miyako, Kesennuma, Sendai Line), a joint service.

The Sanriku Expressway Bus started demonstration operation in October last year. Against the backdrop of the opening of the entire Sanriku Coastal Road in December, there is a growing need for a highway bus that connects Miyako Station and Sendai Station without changing trains for sightseeing and daily transportation. After the demonstration, the connection with the Shinkansen will be corrected, and the official operation will be carried out.
The operating distance is about 250 km. The section is Iwate / Roadside Station Seatopia Nado (Miyako City) - Miyako Station - Rikunaka Yamada Station - Miyagi / Kesennuma City Town, People, Work Exchange Plaza - Sendai Station East Exit - Sendai Station. There are two trains a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Departures and arrivals at Iwate are Roadside Station Seatopia Nado (7:05 a.m., 3:03 p.m.), → Sendai Station (11:46 a.m., 8:11 p.m.). Miyagi departs and arrives in front of Sendai Station (8:15 and 15:55) and → Station Station Seatopia Ado (12:01 and 20:41).
The fare is 4,000 yen for adults and 2,000 yen for children one way from the first train to the last stop. Two-time ticket discount 7,200 yen for adults.
Iwate Prefecture Kita Motors says, "We want to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy through tourism and the movement of residents."
