Opened "Restaurant Manpuku-tei" in Shirakawa Town, Gifu Prefecture to eat local cuisine "Kei-chan" grilled in a Genghis Khan hot pot|Lunch business only

Gifu Prefecture's local cuisine Kei-chan

On Wednesday, August 10th, "Restaurant Manpukutei", which serves Gifu Prefecture's local dish "Kei-chan", will open in Shirakawa Town, located in the southern part of the prefecture. It is operated by the original Shirakawa Kei-chan Co., Ltd.

"Kei-chan" is a local dish that is often eaten in the Hida region of Gifu Prefecture. Kei-chan, which is served by Manpuku-tei, proposes a style of eating sweet and spicy seasoned chicken thighs, breasts, chicken skin, and other meats grilled in a Genghis Khan pot. After eating the seasoned meat, add original chili peppers and enjoy the change in taste. The charm of Kei-chan is that it goes well with rice, and the rice is 100% Shirakawa rice.

The background to the opening of the store is that Mr. Doi, a representative from Shirakawa Town, established Sorairo Farm in Shirakawa Town in 2020, where depopulation is progressing. In March of this year, in order to make Shirakawa Town's specialties, we set up an unmanned Kei-chan sales booth at a local roadside station. This time, as the cafeterias in the town disappeared, we decided to use the empty stores to develop a physical store.

Business hours are 11:30~14:00 (L.O13:30) and irregular holidays (open every day in August).

Local access is about 35 minutes by car from the Minokamo IC on the Tokai Ring Expressway and about 45 minutes by car from the Nakatsugawa IC on the Chuo Expressway.

Kei Shirakawa, the original artist, said, "I want not only locals but also tourists to know the taste of Kei-chan. Shirakawa Town is a place to pass by when heading to Hida. I want you to stop by for business hours." I will talk to you
