The film "The Three Sisters of Tenmaso" is a work that questions the viewer about life, family, and connections with people. The setting of the work revolves around the long-established inn "Tenmaso" in the city "Mitsuse" between the heavens and the earth. It connects different locations in Otaru, Izu, and Sendai to recreate Mitsuse.

The main characters are Nozomi Tenma (Yuko Oshima), the young proprietress of the inn, and her younger sister, Kanae (Mugi Kadowaki), a dolphin trainer. Keiko (Shinobu Terashima), a mother of two and a landlady. The main character, Tamae Ogawa (Non), the sister of the sisters, and the mysterious woman Izuko (Kou Shibasaki). The story begins when Izuko takes Tamae in a taxi and brings her to Tenmaso.

Tenmaso is a 150-year-old " located in Otaru City, Hokkaido. Restaurant Yujuku Gintoso " is the filming location. Built on a hill overlooking the sea, Gintoso is a building that seems to have jumped out of the original, and filming was realized during the renovation of the inn.
