Tokai Kisen operates daily on a high-speed jet boat between Tokyo ~ Tateyama for a limited time|For those who want to avoid congestion on the Aqua Line

Tokai Kisen will call at Sunset Pier in Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture every day from February 4 (Sat) ~ March 26 (Sun), 2023 on a high-speed jet boat connecting Tokyo Takeshiba Pier ~ Izu Oshima, and will set up several operating routes.

It is a limited-time route, and it can be used as a way to go from Tokyo to Tateyama sightseeing and back, and for people living in the Tateyama area to get to Tokyo. You can also travel from Tateyama to Oshima (55 minutes) and from Oshima to Atami Port (45 minutes). With a waiting time, you will be able to access the Izu Peninsula from Tateyama in as little as 1 hour and 55 minutes.

The fare is one way for adults (half price for children), Tokyo/Tateyama 5,110 yen, Tateyama/Oshima 5,330 yen, Tateyama/Atami 8,790 yen, Oshima/Atami 5,590 yen.

 

The route also sells inexpensive special tickets as tour plans that require advance reservations. Tokyo ~ Tateyama (round trip) is 5,500 yen for adults and 3,000 yen for children, and 5,500 yen for adults and 3,000 yen for children to and from Tateyama and Oshima (round trip). Atami, to/from Tateyama (round trip), is 8,000 yen for adults and 4,000 yen for children. From Tateyama to Tokyo (one-way) is 2,900 yen for adults and 1,500 yen for children (with Mifune stamp). Round-trip tickets are valid for 4 days. One-way tickets are limited to the day of the event.

 

Currently, if you want to go from Tokyo to Tateyama, you can use your own car or a highway bus from Shinjuku or Tokyo Station. It takes about 3 hours to connect to JR lines from Tokyo Station. Tokai Kisen will advertise that "sightseeing in Tateyama in early spring avoids the congestion of the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line and uses a comfortable jet ferry."
