いわき市が1月31日はアロハの市に制定

The official recognition of "Aloha Day" was decided by the cooperation of the executive committee, which consists of Iwaki City and Tokiwa Kosan (operated by Spa Resort Hawaiins), with the cooperation of Kauai County, Hawaii, the city's international sister city. The reason for choosing January 31 is because of the hand sign of the Hawaiian greeting "Aloha", the shape of the hand and the number of fingers of Shakabura.

The award ceremony will be held at Spa Resort Hawaiian on Saturday, January 14, and the Japan Memorial Day Association will present certificates to the dancing team captains. A message of support from the mayor of Kauai County was introduced (read on behalf of the county) and the anniversary was declared. The award ceremony (13:00~13:20) is open to the public. A commemorative PV will be released on January 31st.

The committee says, "We want to bring smiles to the faces of all of Japan with the Aloha greeting, which expresses the spirit of caring for people and nature, and to revitalize the region."

Currently, the prefectures and municipalities that have sister partnerships with municipalities in the state of Hawaii are: 31 locations
