In Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, on Saturday, February 11, one of the three major festivals of Uonuma, "Snow Flower Water Festival", will be held in the precincts of Horinouchi Hachimangu Shrine. This is the first time in three years that the event has been held.

The Snow Flower Water Festival is a winter festival that has been held since the Edo period, and is an event to wish for children's treasures, the growth of children, and the unity of husband and wife. The highlight of the festival is an unusual ceremony in which several newlyweds on all fours are splashed with water under the cold sky of Uonuma, Snow Country. In addition, there are processions of people dressed in costumes such as kamishimo and miko that are reminiscent of picture scrolls, and mikoshi shrines. In the surrounding area, a pigeon market of good luck charms and a market of delicious foods will be held.
In addition to the three major Uonuma festivals, there are "108 Lights (3/5)" and "Shineri Benten Tataki Jizo Festival (every June)". The Uonuma City Tourism Association will promote "Have you experience the extraordinary at the Miracle Festival, and then enjoy Uonuma's local sake and gourmet food."
Local access is a 5-minute walk from Echigo-Horinouchi Station on the JR Joetsu Line.
