Japan Tourism Agency releases Tourism Crisis Management Handbook to ensure the safety of travelers and rebuild local communities

On June 14, 2021, the Japan Tourism Agency, together with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Office in Japan, published a tourism crisis management guidebook that is useful for tourism crisis management plans for local governments and tourism-related businesses.

A "handbook" that summarizes the basics of tourism crisis management and the measures that should be taken by local governments and tourism-related businesses. "Teaching materials and appendices" that can be used to draft tourism crisis management plans and crisis response manuals in the workbook. There is a "Lecturer's Handbook" that is useful for crisis management personnel when explaining to someone.

 

On June 11, the Japan Tourism Agency released a keynote speech on the theme of tourism crisis management on its official Youtube channel.
