Kameyama Onsen Hotel in Okuboso announces local line support plan|In response to the crisis of the discontinuation of the JR Kururi Line

Kameyama Onsen Hotel, a long-established ryokan in Okuboso, Chiba Prefecture, has started selling the accommodation plan "Kururi Line Support!

JR East Japan announced on March 9 that it had requested consultations between the prefecture and Kimitsu City regarding the existence and abolition of the Kururi Line. The Kururi Line has an average daily ridership of 55 in FY2021 and an annual revenue of only 1 million yen (FY2021), making it the worst-selling line in the eastern Japan region.

 

In response to this, Kameyama Onsen Hotel offers an accommodation plan for a train trip that proposes sightseeing in Okuboso, such as Lake Kameyama and Kuri Castle. Detailed information such as railway schedules and walking courses is introduced. The plan includes one drink service, free bicycle rental for 3 hours, transportation to Kamiso Kameyama Station, free bathing and towels after check-out, etc.

 

The price of the accommodation plan (with 2 adult meals) is 20,350 yen ~, and reservations are limited to the official website.

Currently, less than 10% of the guests of Kameyama Onsen Hotel use the railway.
