Opening the Tokyo Expressway to pedestrians "Ginza Skywalk"|3,000 participants are recruited by lottery
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Tokyo Expressway Co., Ltd. will hold the "Ginza Skywalk (Ginsuka)" event for two days on May 4 (Thursday) and 5 (Friday), 2023, to stop automobile traffic on the Tokyo Expressway (KK Line) and turn it into a pedestrian space.

On the day of the event, there will be a walk of about 2 km from Shimbashi ~ Kyobashi on the Tokyo Expressway, talk sessions, and food and drink events. Hours are 13:00~20:00 (May 4), 9:00~17:00 (May 5).
The number of applicants is 3,000 (lottery system), and participation is free. Registration is open from March 17 (Fri) ~ April 7 (Fri) until 5 p.m. Dedicated site Accepted at. The event is managed by Japan Travel Agency.

The event is held to publicize the Tokyo Expressway's plan to revitalize the road into a pedestrian space due to the underground construction of the Japan Bridge section of the Metropolitan Expressway.
The Tokyo Expressway plans to start work in the mid-2020s and complete the development in the 2030s and 2040s. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is in a position to support the project as a leasor of the land on which the road is built.
* Between 0:00 on May 4 ~ 24:00 on May 5, the Metropolitan Expressway Yaesu Line and the Tokyo Expressway will be closed to vehicular traffic.
