Seikan Ferry's Hakodate-born new ship "Hayabusa II" will start service from April 4|Inauguration commemorative campaign

On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, the Seikan Ferry, which connects Aomori Port and Hakodate Port, will launch the new vessel Hayabusa II for the first time. The shipbuilding company is Hakodate Dotsuku Hakodate Shipyard.

The new Hayabusa II can accommodate 300 passengers. The inauguration of the vessel will ensure the capacity to transport passengers on board the Asakaze 5 (103 passengers), which ended its service on March 25.
The first flight from Hakodate (flight 14) is scheduled to depart at 20:30 on Tuesday, April 4 and arrive at Aomori at 00:20, and departure from Aomori (flight 01) is scheduled to depart at 02:00 on Wednesday, April 5 and arrive at Hakodate at 05:50. After the launch of the service, two flights per day are scheduled to depart from various locations.

 

The interior design of the ship uses graphics of famous places in Hakodate, such as Goryokaku and Onko Tree. The space on board is an open 1st and 2nd floor entrance, and 2nd class chair seats with an ocean view. A state room with 2 beds, or a state room bed with 4 beds and a sofa for groups. In addition to the second-class room with carpeted floors, there are sofa seats and barrier-free chair seats at the counter. A feature that allows you to see the sea from each cabin.

 

The boarding fare is 2,200 yen for adults and 1,100 yen for children until May, with round-trip discounts. As a campaign to commemorate the launch of the new ship, the Seikan Ultra Discount will be held. Passenger cars under 5 meters can be boarded for 10,000 yen in April and 12,000 yen in May.
