"Shimajiman 2023" will be held in Takeshiba with the Tokyo Islands in one place|Islander live and hands-on events
The Tokyo Ai Land Fair "Shimajiman 2023" will be held for two days on Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Takeshiba Pier and Takeshiba Passenger Ship Terminal and Tokyo Port City Takeshiba. The event is organized by the Executive Committee of each remote island and Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

"Shimajiman" is an event that introduces the charm of the Izu Islands and the 11 remote islands of the Ogasawara Islands. On stage, Miyagawa Airi, an artist from Shikone Island, and traditional performing arts groups from each remote island performed live. Hands-on events include camellia petal dyeing in Oshima, seashell accessory production in Niijima and Shikinejima, bouldering in Miyakejima, and bracelet making using octopus leaves in Ogasawara. At the food and beverage corner, local dishes such as Ise shrimp grilled on the shore, dried gold, and Asaba tempura are sold.
Admission is free. Food and drinks are charged, and experiences are free and charged.
The event will be held on May 13 from 10:00 ~ 18:00 and May 14 from 10:00 ~ 17:00.
Since 1988, Shimajiman has been held once every two years, and in recent years it has grown into an event that attracts about 100,000 visitors. This year, the event will be held for the first time in five years, and a large space will be prepared with the addition of Tokyo Portcity Takeshiba to the venue.
