The drift ice sightseeing boat Garinko in the northeastern part of Hokkaido will operate a cruise to observe scallop fishing from the Sea of Okhotsk on the drift ice sightseeing boat Garinko 4 times in July ~ August.

The Garinko is a sightseeing cruise that allows you to experience the Sea of Okhotsk with drift ice in winter and fishing in summer. This summer, the first cruise project was realized in cooperation with the fishery cooperative to promote scallops from the Sea of Okhotsk nationwide.

 

The flight dates and times are July 22 (Thursday), August 7 (Saturday), August 9 (Monday) and August 28 (Saturday). Each cruise departs at 8 a.m. and lasts about 1 hour. Up to 30 minutes longer. Cruise ships arrive and depart from Monbetsu Sea Station (Ocean Exchange Center).

The fee is 3,000 yen for adults, 1,500 yen for elementary school students, and free for infants. Guided on board by a former scallop fisherman. The current Garinco is the third-generation Garinco III Imer, which debuted in January this year. It was built and completed at a shipyard in Oita Prefecture in April last year, and in November it called at the Port of Yokohama for an open ceremony and became a hot topic.
