Sightseeing facility "HASSENBA" opened at Kuma River Hitoyoshi Departure Pier, Kumamoto Prefecture|One year after the torrential rain disaster
On July 4th, the "Kuma River Kudari" Hitoyoshi Departure Pier in Hitoyoshi City, an area affected by the heavy rains in Kumamoto in July last year, was reborn and opened as a tourist facility "HASSENBA HITOYOSHI/KUMAGAWA". It is operated by Kumagawa Kudari.

HASSENBA is a two-story Japanese modern building with a tiled roof. On the first floor, in addition to "Kuma River Kudari" and "Rafting", there is a reception for the "Hitoyoshi Hakken Cycling Tour" to learn about the progress of recovery from the Kumamoto torrential rains. As for restaurants, "Kyushu Pancake Cafe", which originated in Miyazaki, opened its first store in Kumamoto. Dishes featuring local agricultural products are served. "HITO×KUMA STORE" sells products in the southern region of the prefecture. On the second floor, there is a terrace overlooking the Kuma River and a bar serving local shochu. Equipped with a conference room designed by JR Kyushu's Nana Star designers.

One year has passed since the Kumamoto torrential rains. With the opening of "HASSENBA" as a symbol of the region, it is expected that tourism in Hitoyoshi will move forward.
