JTB Okinawa operates "Yanbaru Gurutto Sightseeing Shuttle Bus" connecting Chatan to Kouri Island only in summer

JTB Okinawa, in collaboration with bus companies in the prefecture, will start operating the "Yanbaru Gurutto Sightseeing Shuttle Bus" from Saturday, July 15, 2023 to Sunday, August 20, 2023, from the resort area of the main island to sightseeing spots in the northern area. The shuttle bus operates a free section (4 round trips per day, 3 stops) from Chatan Town ~ Onnano Station (Onna Village) and a paid section from Onnano Station ~ Kouri Island (Nakijin Village) (8 round trips per day, 16 stops). To get on the bus, register for a free one-day ticket for Chatancho ~ Onnano Station or purchase a one-day ticket for Onnano Station ~ Kouri Island (1100 yen for adults and children, free for children under 6 years old) on the route bus tour app "OTOPa".

In Okinawa Prefecture, the increase in tourists and the shortage of rental cars continue, and all prefectures are trying to promote the use of secondary transportation, but there are concerns about tourism congestion due to the easing of the corona disaster. This shuttle bus is operated by JTB Okinawa using a subsidy project of the Japan Tourism Agency, and is carried out only in the summer when tourists coming from the mainland are overheated.
