Takaoka's craft and art festival "Market Street 2023" will be held in September
The craft and art festival "Market Street 2023" will be held in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture for three days from September 16 (Sat) ~ 18 (Mon), 2023.
Takaoka City is a castle town built by the Maeda family, the lord of the Kaga domain, and for more than 400 years, the traditional industries of casting and lacquerware have been passed down. The event will feature a variety of programs such as craft and art exhibitions and sales, workshops, and local gourmet food. Last year, we won the Prime Minister's Award at the Hometown Event Awards.
Particular attention is paid to the provision of original gourmet food and a pedestrian paradise in Yamamachi-suji, an important traditional buildings preservation district for the first time in four years, and original gourmet food. There are open factories that tour workshops and factories, and group exhibitions by local artists.
The event is organized by the Takaoka Craft Market Street Executive Committee, and is organized by Takaoka City, the Takaoka Traditional Industry Youth Association, and design organizations.
