Demons' Sanctuary Kyoto Fukuchiyama will hold "Takai Yoshikazu's Cute Demons and Yokai Exhibition" (until 9/3)

From Tuesday, July 25 to Sunday, September 3, 2023, the "Demon Exchange Museum of Japan" located at the foot of Mt. Oeyama in Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture, will hold a special exhibition "Takai Yoshikazu ~ Cute Demons and Yokai ~ Picture Book Yokaimura Works Exhibition".

In Fukuchiyama City, the legend of demons has been preserved for a long time, and Mt. Oeyama is known as a sacred place for demons. In the special exhibition, illustrations and three-dimensional dolls by picture book author "Takai Yoshikazu" will be exhibited. Takai is the creator of the "Ohana Rokuma" series, and has published works on the theme of yokai and demons. It has also been selected for the Bologna International Picture Book Original Picture Book Exhibition several times.
During the period, in addition to the exhibition, Takai's workshop (8/5) and a talk session (8/6) will also be held. Participation is free, but pre-registration is required by phone.

 

たかいよしかずのかわいい鬼と妖怪展

Admission is 330 yen for adults, 220 yen for high school students, and 160 yen for elementary and junior high school students. The museum is open from 9:00~17:00 (last admission at 16:30), closed every Monday (closed the next day if it is a holiday).

 

Local access is about a 35-minute walk from Oeyamaguchi Naimiya Station on the Kyoto Tango Railway, and about 20 minutes by city bus (weekdays only) or taxi. The local transfer service "Onitaku" is also available (reservation required).
