A new mountain trail opens at Mt. Tencanopy, a mountaineering spot in Hida|Healed by the messages of elementary and junior high school students at an altitude of 1290m
On Friday, July 28, 2023, a new mountain trail "YAMAP Shindo" opened on Mt. Tengai-san, a popular climbing spot in Hida City, Gifu Prefecture, at an altitude of 1,523 meters.
The new mountain trail starts at the Okuhida Yamanomura Ranch at an altitude of 1,000 meters, and maintenance began last year, and has now been opened after installing a climbing notification box and confirming safety. Hida City and the popular outdoor app "YAMAP" have teamed up to name the view spot along the new road at an altitude of 1290 meters "Yamap-daira". Signs and message boards created by students from the local Yamanomura Elementary and Junior High School, as well as benches and tables for breaks, were set up there.
Climbers walk through a bright forest along a 3.7-kilometer ridge with a height difference of 600 meters, see Mt. Kitanomata, Mt. Kurobe Goro, and Mt. Kasaga at Yamaphira, and watch messages from elementary and junior high school students to relieve their fatigue. At an altitude of around 1,300 meters, the beech forests that form the Hida Forest spread, and it is expected to be a new viewing spot.
