Munakata World Heritage Site Monitor Tour to Experience Okinoshima Offshore Worship|8/1 Application Acceptance Start

On August 25 (Fri) and 26 (Sat), 2023, Nishitetsu Travel will hold the "Munakata World Heritage Site Enjoyment Monitor Tour" for 2 days and 1 night. On the tour, you will experience a visit to the sea of "World Heritage Okinoshima".

Worship at Okinoshima has a history of risking one's life to reach the island. The monitor tour reminds us of the ancient Munakata Kaijin who spanned thousands of years. In addition, you will stay at Munakata Oshima, a World Heritage Site "Sacred Island" Munakata Okinoshima and Munakata Oshima, a related heritage group, and visit Munakata Taisha Shrine.
The main programs include a visit to Okinoshima at sea, a historical explanation at Munakata Taisha Shrine, a cooking reproduction event at the Okinoshima Local Grand Festival, and an official visit to Munakata Taisha Nakatsu Shrine. The departure and return points are Hakata Station.

 

The participation fee for the monitor tour is 13,400 yen, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Applications will be accepted on Tuesday, August 1 with a capacity of 20 people. If you can apply from 2 people and there are many applicants, a lottery will be held, and the results will be announced on Wednesday 9th. Participants are required to cooperate with the questionnaire.

 

The tour is conducted by Nishitetsu Travel as a subsidized project of the Munakata Tourism Association.
