Kinzu overcharges about 10 million yen in Nagoya City's vaccine business|President resigns due to a series of fraud
Nagoya City announced on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, that Japan Tourist had overcharged 10.6 million yen when outsourcing the operation of the new coronavirus vaccine mass vaccination site.

The overcharge was for the vaccine business from March to October last year, with a contract value of about 950 million yen. Despite the fact that the vaccination time was changed from the original schedule and the number of medical personnel was reduced, Kinzu did not reflect the reduction and billed Nagoya City. This was revealed in an internal investigation by Kinto. In addition, Nagoya City will request restitution and will not file a criminal complaint.
On Wednesday the 9th, Kinzu took responsibility for the vaccine incident, including the arrest of four employees so far, and announced the resignation of President Takaura. He will be succeeded as president by the president of a group company. President Yoneda of KNT-CT Co., Ltd., a parent company of Kinto, will voluntarily return 20% of the monthly remuneration of executives for three months.
In April, after the discovery of fraud at the Kansai branch, Kinzu announced the possibility of overcharging up to 1.47 billion yen for the vaccine business of 86 municipalities nationwide (currently up to 50 municipalities 9 billion yen). Internal investigations will continue in the future.
