Implementation of "Shimane Countryside Tourism" for parents and children to enjoy in Shimane Prefecture|Providing experiences of 22 rural fishing villages

In Shimane Prefecture, from October 14 (Sat) ~ November 12 (Sun), 2023, the rural experience program "Shimane Rural Tourism Parent-Child Experience" will be held in rural fishing villages in the prefecture. Pre-orders will start on Tuesday, September 26. (*The photo is an image)

The "Shimane Countryside Tourism Parent-Child Experience" provides an experience that parents and children can enjoy in rural villages and fishing villages spread throughout Shimane Prefecture, and can experience nature, climate, history, and culture. There are 22 types of experiences, and they will be held in 10 areas: Ota, Etsu, Hamada, Masuda, Eunan, Tsuwano, Koga, Oku-Izumo, and Matsue.

The programs offered are those that are usually carried out by local businesses and individuals, and those that are newly created. For example, in Matsue City, there is a program for parents and children to enjoy fishing in the sea of Mihoseki, and in Eunan Town, there is a program to drive a trolley on the discontinued JR Sane Line. In addition, there are local programs that cannot be experienced by general tourism, such as making tofu in Ota City, where you can experience making tofu in the Kitasanbei style, and making french fries using autumn potatoes in Iinan Town.

Each program will be held from one to several times. Participation fees vary depending on the program, ranging from a few hundred yen for children to several thousand yen with accommodation, and affordable rates for adults. Reservations for the trial program will be accepted from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26 through the reservation site or by phone.
