Mystery-solving challenge in Tokyo Bay and Sarushima|Learning about unmanned ships during demonstration experiments|The Japan Foundation for children
From July 22 (Thursday) ~ August 31 (Tuesday), the Japan Foundation will distribute the "Sarushima Mystery Solving Map" to children to learn about unmanned ships that are undergoing demonstration tests while strolling around Sarushima, an uninhabited island in Tokyo Bay. The number of MAPs distributed is limited to 20,000 participants.

The "Sarushima Mystery Solving MAP" is a content to learn about the latest technology of unmanned ships and demonstration experiments of Sarushima by answering quizzes about unmanned ships on the walking route of Sarushima with a MAP in hand. When all the mysteries are solved, gifts are prepared on a first-come, first-served basis.
Currently, the "Megli 2040" project, a demonstration experiment of unmanned vessels, is being carried out in five communities in Japan. One of them is the sightseeing ferry "Sea Friend Zero" that connects Mikasa Pier and Sarushima in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Unmanned vessels (currently manned) are equipped with high-tech cameras and sensors.

The aim of unmanned vessels is to reduce accidents at sea and solve labor shortages in shipping.
