Nakasendō Walking Higashi-Mino-Pilgran with a smartphone|To the good old Japan highway
From October 12, 2023 (Thursday) ~ March 29, 2024 (Friday), "Nakasendo Walking Using Smartphones ~Higashi-Mino-Pilgrimage~" will be held around the Nakasendo in Higashi-Mino, Gifu Prefecture. The event was organized by Gifu Prefecture and the Higashi-Mino Historical Highway Council. (Ontake-juku ~ Famous place of cobblestone between the course of Oyujuku Biwa Pass)
For Nakasendo walking, we use a function called "Area de Furatto Walk" of the Nagoya Railway app "Cent X". Using the GPS of their smartphones, participants will check in by walking through 45 checkpoints, including stone monuments and historical sites, on the Nakasendo road. If you visit all the places, you will get a crossing certificate at the exchange office.
There are three courses in the target section from Ontake-juku in Gifu Prefecture to Tsumago-juku in Nagano Prefecture with a total length of 46.8 km. The first is the longest distance from Ontake-juku to Oyu-juku (17.7 km), and it is an advanced course that passes through the famous Biwa Pass with many climbs. The second is a beginner's course where you can enjoy a variety of scenery from Oijuku to Oijuku at 13.7 km. The third is an intermediate course where you can enjoy the feeling of time travel at 15.4 km from Nakatsugawa-juku to Tsumago-juku. Each course is an old-fashioned highway that is walked by people who are familiar with Nakasendo.

- After launching the app, select "Ride" displayed at the bottom of the screen.

- Tap "Join"
- Read the QR/2D code at the starting point and start walking!
The person in charge of Gifu Prefecture said, "You can enjoy a walking trip on the road with a strong old scene, and it takes 3~5 hours, and it may take more depending on the person. Walk slowly and feel the good old roads of Japan."
