From April 2020 to April 2022, Meitetsu Kanko Service fraudulently received employment adjustment subsidies by repeatedly making false applications for leave and education and training days, even though employees were actually at work at branches in the Chubu area.

In May of this year, the Aichi Labor Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare pointed out that Meitetsu Tourism Service conducted an internal investigation and found that 144 of the total amount of approximately 34 million yen received out of the total number of applications for 2,073 applications at the branch had fraudulently received about 2.5 million yen, and reported it to the authorities. In the future, if the Aichi Labor Bureau certifies that the company has received fraudulent benefits, the company will be obliged to return the full amount of the subsidy, including the amount other than the amount of fraudulent receipt. The total amount received by the company amounted to approximately 2.3 billion yen.

Meitetsu Kanko Service is the core company of the Nagoya Railway Group. The total transaction amount in FY2022 was approximately 64 billion yen, ranking 10th in the industry. The company said, "We take this incident seriously and will do our utmost to ensure thorough measures to prevent recurrence and transparency."
