Samukawa Town is located in a corner of Shonan, and although the name of the town is cold, the warm climate is a selling point. The winter sunflower event is held every year after the onset of winter in November, and this year is the eighth year. A total of more than 130,000 winter sunflowers bloom in three locations in the town.

The first batch will be about 37,000 bottles on November 3 (Friday/holiday) ~ November 5 (Sunday). In the second phase, you can enjoy about 90,000 sunflowers on November 23 (Thursday / holiday) ~ 26 (Sunday). At the main venue "Samukawa Sunflower Field", you can enjoy the sunflower picking experience on the entire schedule.
The event will be held from 10:00~14:00. The participation fee is 100 yen for 5 picking experiences, and only the tour is free. On the 25th and 26th, there will also be stalls selling vegetables and goods.

Access to the Samukawa Sunflower Field is a 13-minute walk from Miyayama Station on the JR Sagami Line. There is also a parking lot in the vicinity. Other venues can be found on the official website of the Tourism Association.

Winter sunflowers have been grown by the Samukawa Town Tourism Association and volunteers by sowing seeds in fields and flower beds in the town. The tourism association says, "We hope that the sunflowers in winter will soothe your heart and help you color your home peacefully."
