Amakusa the Great is a large chicken that has been bred in Amakusa since the Edo period. The flesh has an elastic crunch and a rich taste, and the moderate fat is very juicy. Car shrimp can be enjoyed not only as sashimi that has been tightened alive, but also boiled with salt or grilled. Characterized by its plump texture and slight sweetness, Amakusa is also known as the birthplace of car shrimp farming in Japan.
At accommodation facilities, 1 night with 2 meals starts at 10,000 yen, and at restaurants, it starts at 550 yen for a single item, and there are also set meals and sets. During the period, if you eat the food and answer the questionnaire at the store or post a photo of the food and "#天草大王と車えび" on Instagram, 10 people will be selected by lottery to win Amakusa Daio's chicken or frozen shrimp.
This is the fourth time that Amakusa Daioh and the car shrimp have been held. The Amakusa Treasure Island Tourism Association is promoting that "winter is the season for all of them, and we want you to eat them when they are fatty and delicious."
