Midwinter Nature Experience in Nakashibetsu – Snowshoe Hiking and Notsuke Bay Tour to Finish with Hot Springs

On Saturday, February 24, 2024, the Tourism Association of Nakashibetsu Town, Hokkaido will hold a special tour "Mt. Moan Snowshoe Hike and Notsuke Peninsula Ice Horizon Mini Walk Bus Tour" where children and adults can enjoy the great nature and hot springs in winter.

In the morning, the tour explores Mount Moan, which is about 356 meters above sea level, which is easy for beginners to climb. Enjoy the spectacular view from the top of the mountain with a guide from the Minami-Shiretoko Mountain Association, and have lunch with a special bento box made with local ingredients.
In the afternoon, travel to the Notsuke Peninsula and enjoy the beauty of Notsuke Bay, which is covered in white ice. Also known as the Salar de Uyuni in Japan, this place offers a stroll through the snowfields stretching across the ice horizon and unique trick photos on the frozen waters. After the tour, each participant can move to the city center and relax at the hot spring facilities.

 

The meeting and return location is in front of the lobby of Toyo Grand Hotel, which is a 7-minute drive from Nakashibetsu Airport. On the day of the event, we will meet at 7:45 and finish at 16:00.

 

Participants must be in the fourth grade of elementary school or older, and elementary and junior high school students must be accompanied by a guardian. The maximum number of participants is 30 (minimum 12). The participation fee is 12,000 yen per person, and includes a bus ride, snowshoe rental, guide fee, lunch box, and hot spring bathing ticket.

The Nakashibetsu Tourism Association says, "We want you to relax in the local hot springs after experiencing the magnificent nature of Nakashibetsu in winter."
