"Carpenter's Town Plum Night" held in the downtown area of Mito City – In conjunction with the Mito Plum Festival
In Mito City, "Carpenter's Town Plum Night" will be held in conjunction with the "128th Mito Plum Festival" to be held at Kairakuen and Kodokan from February 10 (Sat) ~ March 17 (Sun), 2024. The event is organized by the Mito Tourism and Convention Association.

The Mito Plum Festival has a history of more than 120 years, and 3,000 plum trees of about 100 varieties are in full bloom, heralding the arrival of spring. This year, in conjunction with the Plum Festival, the "Plum Night in Carpenter's Town" will be held for the first time in the downtown area of Carpentercho, which is about a 15-minute walk from the Plum Festival venue. Carpenter Town was named because of the large number of carpenters who lived there during the Edo period.
At Plum Night, restaurants in Carpenter's Town offer a special plum menu, and lanterns are lit up (2/21~). In addition, there will be food and drink events (3/1 and 2) where Carpenter-cho and Izumi-cho Nakadori will become pedestrian paradises and open terraces will be arranged, and night tour plans for many snacks in Carpenter-cho (2/28~3/16). In addition, tuk-tuks wrapped in plum festival specifications will be operated mainly on weekends and Saturdays.
