The station in Ica was damaged by the tsunami caused by the earthquake, which caused seawater to flow into the facility. Subsequent repairs were carried out and the facility was reopened for safety.

There is a souvenir corner and a restaurant serving specialty squid dishes in the facility, but for the time being, only the souvenir and squid fishing tools display corner will be open at a reduced time.

Squid Station is located at the foot of Kujuku Bay, a calm inner bay in Noto Town, and opened in June 2020. In 2021, during the Corona disaster, a monument to a giant squid of about 13 meters called "Squid King" was installed.

At the time, some people questioned the production cost, but since then it has become a popular spot that attracts many tourists. Against the power of the tsunami, Squid King was almost unscathed. Noto-Ogi Port, which is close to Squid Station, is known as one of the three major squid fishing ports in Japan.
