Selling common admission tickets at the four temples in Nara City - special red seals and new projects

From June 14 (Friday) ~ August 12, 2024 (Monday, national holiday), the Nara City Tourism Association will hold a sightseeing program "Nara Nishinokyo Lotus Road ~A Trip to Enjoy Lotus and History~" to visit the four temples in the city known for their lotuses, and will sell common admission tickets (4,000 yen). On the Nara-Nishinokyo Lotus Road, you will visit the four temples of Saidaiji, Kikoji, Toshodai, and Yakushiji. If you present a common admission ticket, you can receive a special red seal (300 yen each) at each temple. In addition, new sutra readings and walking tours will also be held. Purchasers of the Shigaji Common Admission Ticket will also be provided with a coupon that allows them to save on dining and shopping in the surrounding area.

 

The price of the common admission ticket is 4,000 yen and includes original goods. A limited edition of 1,500 paper and electronic tickets will be sold. Purchases can be made at the Nara City General Tourist Information Center, Kintetsu Nara Station General Tourist Information Center, each temple, and the reservation site "Asoview!" Are.

 

The best time to see lotus flowers is in the morning, and the flowers have a habit of closing in the afternoon. The tourism association says, "We want you to enjoy visiting the temple and viewing the lotus in the cool morning hours."

 

According to the staff of the Tourism Association, the recommended route to visit all the temples in the morning is Saidaiji Temple (Admission 8:30~), Kikoji Temple →→ Toshodaiji Temple→ Yakushiji Temple (Kintetsu Nishinokyo Station) near Kintetsu Yamato Seidaiji Station, and you can visit it on foot in a hurry. In addition, Kikoji Temple will be open from 7:00 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays in July. Therefore, it is convenient to take a route that departs from Kikoji Temple, takes the train from Kintetsu Nishinokyo Station back to Yamato-Seidaiji Station, and finally goes around Saidaiji Temple.
