Famima releases sea urchin and salmon roe "Roughly (alternative) seafood rolls" only in the Kanto region - the second after the seafood bowl

From May 28, 2024 (Tuesday), FamilyMart will release "Ordinary (Alternative) Seafood Roll" (398 yen) at FamilyMart stores in the Kanto area as a seafood sushi series using alternative foods such as sea urchin and salmon roe.

ファミリーマー代替食品シリーズ「だいたい海鮮巻」、ウニ・イクラ発売

"Roughly Seafood Roll" is the successor to the first Roughly Series Seafood Bowl, which was released in February 2024. There are two rolls of sushi rolls made with sea urchin substitute food (pollock) and two sushi rolls made with salmon roe substitute food (vegetable oil derived from soybeans). In addition, two types of sushi rolls use crab substitutes (crab-flavored kamaboko).

The sales area is approximately 4,900 FamilyMart stores in six prefectures in the Kanto region (Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, and parts of Kanagawa Prefecture).

FamilyMart advertises that "the last seafood bowl was a great way for many people to learn about alternative seafood foods that contribute to sustainable fisheries."
