Ferry service to Mizushima, Hawaii in Fukui Prefecture for the summer season starts on July 13
Ferry service to Mizushima, an uninhabited island at the tip of the Tsuruga Peninsula in Fukui Prefecture (Omi Kanko), will start on Saturday, July 13, 2024. The flight period is until Sunday, September 1st.

Mizushima is named "Hawaii of Fukui Prefecture" and is an uninhabited island that can be landed only in the summer season of July ~ August. In response to the voice of "Isn't it too much to say that Fukui Prefecture is Hawaii?", the sea with highly transparent water quality like a tropical country and white sand beaches are spreading. In shallow water, you can enjoy snorkeling and observe the appearance of fish.
The outbound departure from Tsuruga City "Irogahama Pier" is operated every 30 minutes from 9:00 ~ 12:00 and 13:15 ~ 14:45, and the return departure from "Mizushima" is at any time. The journey takes about 10 minutes each way.
The boarding fee is 1,500 yen for adults, 800 yen for elementary school students, one free for each preschooler, and a child fee from the second child. To access the ferry terminal, take the community bus "Tateishi-bound" on the Tsunemiya Line from the front of JR Tsuruga Station (about 30 minutes), get off at "Irogahama", and walk for 3 minutes.
Tsuruga Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen opened in March this year, marking the first summer. The Tsuruga Tourism Association says, "We want to promote Tsuruga to travelers from the Tokyo metropolitan area that Tsuruga is near the sea, and we want them to compare it with the real Hawaii."
