The first (bottom photo) is the "Yamagata Prefecture Sato Nishiki Short" (583 yen), a shortcake made with "Sato Nishiki", which is a cherry-flavored pink sponge sandwiched between cream with kirsch (cherry wine) and decorated with two Sato Nishiki on top. The second (pictured above) is the "Cherry Pie" (626 yen), which uses plenty of red sour cherries and dark sweet cherries, and you can enjoy the juicy flesh, sweetness, and custard marriage with the pie crust.

The sale period is until June 30 (Sunday) for "Sato Nishiki Short from Yamagata Prefecture" and until August 15 (Thursday) for "Cherry Pie". In addition, there are no fresh cake stores in the Hokkaido and Kyushu regions, Fukui, Kyoto, Shiga, Tottori, Shimane, Yamaguchi, Ehime, and Kochi prefectures.

Since 2013, Ginza Cozy Corner has been selling limited-time cakes made with Sato Nishiki and cherries to coincide with early summer. Sato Nishiki Short is a popular summer menu item that has been sold for five consecutive years. A spokesperson for the company says, "We want you to enjoy the plump sweetness of Sato Nishiki, which is in season now, and the refreshing sweetness of cherries."
