The "Nanao Port Festival in Tokyo" will be held on Friday, August 30 and Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Zojoji Temple in Minato-ku, Tokyo. The "Nanao Port Festival" has been held every July since 1940 in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and includes a general dance and fireworks display to thank the sea and the harbor. However, due to the impact of the Noto Peninsula earthquake on New Year's Day this year, this summer's event was canceled. Under these circumstances, the "Nanao Port Festival in Tokyo" executive committee was established, and it was decided to recreate the festival in Tokyo with the aim of passing on the festival culture.
On the day of the event, there will be a general dance symbolizing the Nanao Port Festival, a reconstruction support booth, Noto product sales, disaster prevention events, etc., and stage performances by groups from Minato Ward are also planned.
The event will be held on Friday, August 30 at 3 p.m. ~ 9 p.m. and Saturday, August 31 at 9 a.m. ~ 9 p.m.
The Nanao Port Festival in Tokyo was planned and organized by JTB, with the cooperation of the production committee of the anime "Kimisomu" set in Nanao City, Minato Ward, and AMUSE. The Executive Committee will be looking for sponsors and participating organizations for the festival from July 18th. For details, please refer to the official website.
