Noetsu Highway and Noto Satoyama Kaido resume face-to-face traffic on the 17th - Near Noto Bridge in September
At 12 o'clock on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the section of the Noetsu Expressway and Noto Satoyama Kaido, which had been one-way due to the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Reiwa 6, "Noto Satoyama Airport IC" (Wajima City) ~ "Tokuda Otsu IC" (Shiga Town) became possible for face-to-face traffic in all sections, except for the area near the Noto Bridge.

The Noetsu Expressway and the Noto Satoyama Kaido are the main arteries of the Noto Peninsula, and the resumption of face-to-face traffic is expected to shorten the traffic time between "Noto Satoyama Airport IC" ~ "Nanao IC" by about 15 minutes compared to one-way traffic (according to the editorial department). The area near the Noto Bridge (Anamizu Town), which was severely damaged, is still one-way alternating traffic, but it is scheduled to be possible to pass face-to-face by the end of September.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, which manages the road, is calling for "caution when passing because there are still some parts of the road alignment and slope that are poor."
