Isewan Ferry, Gamagori ~ Toba route revived for 3 days only - 2 hours 10 minutes through Mikawa Bay

Isewan Ferry will revive the Gamagori (Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture) ~ Toba (Toba City, Mie Prefecture) route that was previously operated for 3 days only from October 12 (Sat) ~ 14 (Mon, holiday), 2024.

This special flight will go beyond the normal Irago Port (Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture) ~ Toba Port, pass through the inner bay and Mikawa Bay of the Atsumi Peninsula, and head from Gamagori Port to Toba Port. There are three flights a day, departing from Gamagori at 9:00, 13:40 and 18:30, and departing from Toba at 11:20 and 16:10, with a one-way journey time of about 2 hours and 10 minutes.

 

Advance tickets are 3,000 yen for adults and 1,500 yen for children, 3,600 yen for adults and 1,800 yen for children on the day, and one free preschooler per adult, limited to 500 people on each flight. Advance tickets will be sold on a special website scheduled to be released in early September, and same-day tickets will be sold at each bus stop.

 

The special route between Gamagori Port ~ Toba Port was operated in 1962 ~ 1982. This time, the revival operation will be carried out to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Isewan Ferry and the 70th anniversary of the municipal administration of Gamagori and Toba. Gamagori City says, "By increasing the frequency of special operations as irregular routes, we would like to promote the appearance of a port with passenger ships."

Isewan Ferry was jointly established in 1964 by Nagoya Railway and Japan Railway. Currently belonging to the Kato Kisen Group Kobe City), it operates a regular route between Irago ~ Toba. In the 2000s, while several routes were closed due to management problems, the current management and the local government bought the shares and maintained the current routes.
