The "Shinshu Shiojiri Grape Festival 2024" is currently being held at 11 farms in Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture, which are members of the Tourism Fruit Direct Sales Association, and you can enjoy purchasing and harvesting. The period is until mid-October 2024.

At 8 of the 11 participating farms, you can experience grape picking and all-you-can-eat. The participation fee is 770 yen ~ for elementary school students and older, 350 yen ~ for children over 3 years old and under elementary school students, and the time of year and the varieties that can be harvested depend on the farm. High-end varieties such as Kyoho require a separate fee. There are also farms where you can harvest apples and pears, and buy peaches.

Shiojiri City is known for its concentration of wineries in the wine grape production area, but it is also highly regarded as a production area for "raw edible grapes". This season, the harvest begins in late August, and the early-maturing varieties "Delaware," "Portland," and "Sunny Rouge" are on the shelves of the farm. From mid-September, the specialty "Niagara grape" reaches its peak, and the three popular grape sisters (Nagano Purple, Shine Muscat, and Queen Rouge) will also appear.

Local access is within a 15-minute walk ~ or 5~15 minutes by taxi from JR Shiojiri Station, and 10~15 minutes from the Nagano Expressway Shiojiri IC by car. There are many scattered along Route 19.
