"Ozekigahara Festival 2024" opens - Experience the East-West confrontation of the warring states at the Sekigahara Ancient Battlefield

From Saturday, September 7, 2024 to Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20, 2024, the "Ozekigahara Festival 2024 ~ East-West Showdown, Stage is Gifu Sekigahara ~" will be held at the Sekigahara Ancient Battlefield in Gifu Prefecture. Co-hosted by Gifu Prefecture and Sekigahara Town, a variety of programs will be developed on the theme of the Warring States.

The event will kick off on the night of September 7 at Mt. Sasao, the site of the warlord Mitsunari Ishida, and will be held at the Sekigahara Ancient Battlefield Memorial Hall and other areas of the Sekigahara Ancient Battlefield.

The highlight for history buffs will be the Sekigahara Research Conference (hosted by Gifu Prefecture) on October 19 and 20, the last weekend of the conference, where Japan's leading historians, Atsushi Kawai and Kazuhiko Kasaya, will reconsider the Battle of Sekigahara from a new perspective through keynote speeches and panel discussions. In addition, research presentations by young researchers are planned. In addition, for the general public, unique events such as "Hanaike Battle" and "East-West Human Shogi" will be held with the theme of the East-West confrontation during the Sengoku period.

There will be a talk show by actor Koji Yamamoto and a magnificent procession and performance by more than 100 armored warriors from all over the country.
