"Iwate Sake Festival 2024" held at Morioka Castle Ruins Park - 2 days of local sake and food in Iwate

In Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, the gourmet event "Iwate Sake Festival 2024" will be held for two days on October 5 (Sat) and 6 (Sun), 2024 at a special venue (in front of the Morioka History and Culture Museum) in Morioka Castle Ruins Park.

The event was held for the second year in a row following the great success that attracted more than 10,000 people last year. This time, 26 sake breweries and 20 restaurants in Iwate Prefecture will gather to serve local sake such as Japan sake, wine, and craft beer, as well as dishes made mainly with ingredients from the central area of the prefecture. in Iwate Student Organizations A variety of programs are also planned, such as tasting and presentation of original brewed sake by Lacquer Cups and pairing of Japan sake. For those who cannot drink alcohol, soft drinks are provided at the food and beverage booths.

 

On the first day, Saturday, October 5th, Mr. Yoshida, who is well known for his work on BS-TBS's "Tavern Wandering," will appear and hold a stage event to discuss the charm of Iwate sake with the brewery. Mr. Yoshida visited Iwate Prefecture in 2019 for an interview. In addition, traditional performing arts such as Sansa Odori will be performed. Along with the event, you can also enjoy the history of Morioka at Morioka Castle Ruins Park, where stone walls and ponds remain.

 

The admission fee is 3,000 yen in advance and 3,500 yen at the door, each with 10 tasting tickets. Advance sales include prefectural softening water.

 

The organizer, the Morioka Regional Promotion Bureau, commented, "There may not be many opportunities to experience Iwate's local sake (for the Tokyo metropolitan area), but we hope you will take this opportunity to visit Morioka."
