Chiba Prefecture Myogon Temple Otaki Minami Dojo | Wishing for the convergence of the corona disaster, "Spirit sky sending" in autumn | Accepting memorial participants
Located in the southern part of the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture, Myogonji Otaki Minami Dojo will hold a "Spirit Sky Sending (Lantern Raising)" on Saturday, September 25th.

The "Spirit Sky Feeding" event will be open to the public for the first time this fall. During the Corona disaster, temples and tourism associations were thinking about new events, and the idea was inspired by the river and ocean flow of the autumn block, and the lantern festival in Otaki Town. He devised a style of ritual service in which a lighted lantern is raised to the sky to see the spirit of the ancestors and send it to the sky.
Advance registration is required to attend the memorial service. Those who wish to participate in the memorial service will be accepted for the first 100 spirits (first name). Predetermined Application Form Fill in the required information and apply by e-mail, mail, or fax. The application deadline is Monday, September 20. Participation on the day of the tour is free.
On the day of the event, from 5 p.m., the priest will hold a ceremony and zazen meditation at the main hall of Myogon Temple, and from 6:30 p.m., the lantern will be sent by the priest. The lantern is sent to the sky after attaching a tag with the name of the participant and lighting it.
Myogonji Otaki Minami Dojo is a temple of Nichiren Buddhism that also has a lodging. A place to recognize the Buddhist culture that blends into the lives of Japan people without adhering to one sect or another, and a place to become the "heart pillar" of local people. Many people come to the temple from Tokyo to seek healing.
The memorial service was planned in cooperation with local stakeholders such as the Otaki Town Tourism Association, Otaki Herb Garden, Isumi Railway, and the Town Revitalization Cooperation Corps.
