ANA Launches Remote Sign Language Interpretation Service Nationwide for Smartphones
From October 1, 2024, ANA will begin providing remote sign language interpretation services for people with hearing and speech impairments at airports nationwide.

The service is available at domestic flight counters at 52 airports nationwide by scanning a special 2D code with a user's smartphone. Remote sign language interpretation services, which were previously available only at major airports in Japan and were provided at dedicated terminals and specific counters, are now available at domestic counters at airports nationwide.
From now on, at any airport, if you talk to an airport staff at the domestic flight counter, you will be able to present a 2D code on the terminal that the staff carrys. In addition, postcard-sized stand signs with 2D codes printed on them will be installed at major airports (Haneda, New Chitose, Chubu, Itami, Kansai, Fukuoka, and Naha).
Through a sign language interpreter, passengers can communicate smoothly with airport staff in real time and ask questions about check-in procedures and tickets.
